Basil is a Styracosaurus who was once a student of the illustrious chef Elliot Silvertooth, and although he became his equal in terms of skill, Elliot did not approve of his lackadaisical and unconventional attitude when it came to cooking. Elliot wanted him to take a more traditional approach in order to refine his technical skills, but Basil was more interested in the simple joy of food and cooking to make folks happy. Unfortunately, Elliot and Basil butted heads one too many times and now no longer speak to one another. Whilst Elliot continued to be a master chef and restaurateur, Basil became a humble gatherer and merchant, preferring a campfire to a state-of-the-art oven. Unlike his former mentor, Basil is open to new and unconvential flavours in all things - in life and in cooking.
