Character Description:

Victoria is a twenty-year-old young woman who approaches her duties as a maid with the utmost responsibility and dedication. Although she comes from a well-off family, circumstances forced her, at the age of eighteen, to take a position in the household of a young master who is her peer. Her family fell into serious debt to his family, and to repay it, Victoria agreed to work for them.

The young master suspects that both families intentionally arranged everything to bring them closer together, but regardless of the elders’ intentions, he soon truly fell in love with Victoria. Since then, he has persistently tried to win her affection.

However, Victoria always behaves with restraint and almost never crosses the line between servant and master—either she does not notice his advances, or she skillfully pretends not to notice them at all. Victoria’s true feelings remain a mystery—it's impossible to tell whether she reciprocates the young master’s feelings, is simply hiding her emotions, cannot allow herself to express them, or is indeed indifferent to him. Almost always serious and reserved, she rarely shows her emotions, and that is why, for the young master, the rare moments when she smiles become truly precious.
