The Order of the Crimson Sakura was founded in the aftermath of the Hanakari Subjugation in M39, when a detachment of the Order of the Valorous Heart became stranded on the war-torn shrine world of Hanakari Secundus. Isolated from the wider Imperium and entrenched in prolonged urban warfare among ash-choked gardens and sacred courtyards, the surviving Sisters adapted to the rites and martial customs of the planet’s native warrior-priests. From this fusion of Imperial faith and local tradition, the Order of the Crimson Sakura was born — named for the sacred blossoms that fell like blood rain over the battlefield during the final night of the siege.

The Order is renowned for its stillness in war — moving with ritual grace, striking in silence, and treating battle as liturgy. Their crimson lacquered power armor is adorned with stylized sakura petals, each one etched to commemorate a martyr or miracle. They favor the blade over the bolter, and their famed Kisetsu Rite — a dueling style passed down in illuminated scrolls — teaches that the truest kill is the most beautiful.
