Professor Moriarty is the main antagonist of the anime series Sherlock Hound. He is an anthropomorphic version of James Moriarty, who is the arch-nemesis of Sherlock Hound (or Holmes, depending on translation). Unlike his original counterpart, who was humble and rarely appeared, Moriarty in this adaptation is shown to be the perpetrator of almost every crime in the series. He also has delusions of grandeur. His schemes are overly complex and ultimately fail due to his shortsightedness or incompetence of his two bumbling henchmen, Smiley and Todd.
