I got tired of searching for the perfect checkpoint that actually represents the author's style. I love anime, but not to the point where every single character looks like it was redrawn by the entire manga industry. Soooo I decided to make my own.
This is the Western-style checkpoint I’ve always wanted to see on Civitai — and I think it turned out pretty damn good.

It looks very promising, thanks for the share. You mention that it aims at a generating pics using a western style. This is a nice objective and there are already some excellent checkpoints at it. Arthemy checkpoints being among the best for exemple. That said, the more the merrier, obviously.
So would it be possible for you to showcase pics that only use Danbooru tags (character, clothings, background, everything Danbooru) and no LoRA so we could see how effective the checkpoint is at westernizing anime characters featured inside of the Danbooru character database?
@antarek Hi, I was struggling with this task yesterday, so I created half of the images in the album without using LoRa's models. But! I also used my own models in the album to reflect the fact that the checkpoint does not alter the original drawing style of the authors and does not detail them for anime.
Danbooru lists don't have many Western characters, and the site was originally designed for anime, so the original IllXL model works primarily with anime. Because of this, I didn't switch to it for about a year, until the models from Croody and Arthemy were introduced.
I was in close communication with Arthemy after he released the model with a cartoon style, and I told him more than once that he had created a gem. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't have taken on many of the models I've created, and this model wouldn't exist. I helped him test his version of the Western drawing and suggested the idea to him. He is a great programmer and a genius!
@NMackelie Thank you for the clarification. As you mentioned, Illustrious was primarily trained on Danbooru tags, so it's naturally anime-oriented. That's why, when a Western-themed model is released, i like to test its ability to convert anime characters to Western characters style-wise as a proof of concept. In any case, as previously mentioned, your checkpoint looks very promising. So thank you for your excellent work; it's much appreciated.
@antarek this is a test run, you could say a beta version, I will monitor the audience response and try to optimize it, in any case, I am personally very satisfied with the result, and I hope the audience will like it too, we will find out on the weekend when the model will be released to the public. You can fully move away from anime drawing in IllXL only by creating a fully new model, possibly based on rule34 instead of danbooru, but I clearly do not have the resources for this hard work.
