Phylicia Rashad is an American actress, singer, stage director, and former dean. She's best known for her role as Clair Huxtable on The Cosby Show, earning Emmy nominations in 1985 and 1986. Rashad has also appeared in Broadway productions like Into the Woods, Jelly's Last Jam, and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. She's received the BET Honors Theatrical Arts Award and the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre's Spirit of Shakespeare Award.
