Alison Brie Schermerhorn, born on December 29, 1982, in Hollywood, California, is an American actress, writer, and producer. Raised in South Pasadena, she developed an early interest in acting, performing in community theater at the Jewish Community Center in Los Feliz. Brie earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from the California Institute of the Arts and further honed her craft at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, Scotland.
Brie's career gained momentum with her role as Trudy Campbell on the critically acclaimed series "Mad Men" (2007–2015). She achieved widespread recognition portraying Annie Edison on the NBC sitcom "Community" (2009–2015).
