Alex Morgan (born July 2, 1989) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a forward for San Diego Wave FC in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) and the United States Women’s National Team (USWNT). She is widely regarded as one of the best female soccer players in the world.
Morgan first gained national attention when she helped the U.S. win the 2012 Olympic gold medal, scoring a crucial last-minute goal in the semifinals against Canada. She was also a key player in the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup-winning teams, co-captaining the squad from 2018 to 2020.
Off the field, she is known for her leadership, advocacy for gender equality in sports, and involvement in various media and branding ventures. Morgan has written children's books, starred in commercials, and has been featured in Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Issue.
