aww. ai has been trained on so many artists but for some reason this is the one I feel sad about.
Why sad? Their art is certainly cute and it seems they've clearly been inspired by other artists, which may include Roz Chast, Sir Quentin Blake, Sarah Anderson, Don Hertzfeldt, and others.
Given that this artist appears to have drawn upon the styles of others, it seems odd to be sad that people will now be able to draw upon this style.
@epzer Well Idk if the comparaison is fair, this artist spent way more time improving their skills than me training this lora or than users who will use it
I've been a digital artist for 20 years and no one has ever tried to copy my style. And that's sad too.
Obviously I understand the meaning of your message and I agree with you on the substance. But as an artist I would also see this as a sign of recognition.
I'm not saying that someone who uses this LoRA has skill equal to the artist it was trained on. But I also think the value of art and expression comes down to more than skill or technique.
I'm still not sure why any of these points makes the existence of the LoRA sad. People borrow and draw upon styles all the time. Now more people will be able to express themselves in a similar style if they so choose.
@Utji Same, i'm an artist too and I would love to see my style replicated, too bad i don't have an iconic style to stand out from others
Don't feel sad. This is like the argument about "piracy is stealing my money", but it's a plain lie because usually, people who piracy stuff won't spend with the original anyway. We, who are using those loras and checkpoints trained on artists, wouldn't be able to pay the artist to produce that, thus they are not losing anything. The AI can't "steal" their skill to produce the real ones.
Quick test- and this is revealed as a truly remarkable LORA- well done!
