Mona Lisa from the comic book series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles by IDW Publishing (2011), a modern TMNT continuity about the Turtle brothers, their allies, mutants, ninjas, and conflicts in New York, is a mutant salamander woman who debuts in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #101 during the Mutant Town era. She was one of the humans mutated after Old Hob’s mutagen bomb, leaving her confined to Mutant Town with many other new mutants. Before mutation she was a physics major at city college, and after becoming a mutant she helps Alopex’s shelter by bringing supplies, even though this puts her in danger from Hob’s enforcers. She becomes friendly with the Turtles, especially Donatello, and appears as part of the new mutant community formed after the events of “City at War.”
