    Overview

Step into the world of ukiyo-e – the floating world of Edo-period Japan. This LoRA brings the timeless beauty of traditional Japanese woodblock prints to Z Image Turbo: dynamic waves, elegant courtesans, kabuki actors, serene landscapes, koi fish, cherry blossoms, and the delicate calligraphy of ink lines. The style is defined by flat colour areas, muted palettes (indigo, vermilion, moss green, rice paper white), and a subtle wood grain texture that mimics actual washi paper prints.

Base Model: Z Image Turbo (also compatible with Flux)

    Trigger Word: ukiyo-e
Alternative Triggers: woodblock print, japanese style, flat colors, ink lines, washi paper, muted palette, edo period, bijin ga, meisho e, kacho ga, japanese woodblock

    Why Z Image Turbo + V67 Ukiyo-e Style?

Z Image Turbo handles flat colour zones, soft gradients, and stylised lines exceptionally well – exactly what ukiyo-e needs. The combination produces images that look like authentic woodblock prints: no 3D shading, no photorealistic textures, just the poetic simplicity of traditional Japanese art.

    Signature Style Elements

    Flat Colours & No Shading

True to ukiyo-e, there are no Western-style shadows. Colour areas are flat but carefully chosen: indigo for water and night, vermilion for accents, moss green for nature, ochre for earth.

    Calligraphic Ink Lines

Thin, flowing outlines that vary in thickness – not uniform vector lines. They follow the rhythm of a brush.

    Washi Paper Texture

A subtle, irregular grain that makes digital images feel like actual prints on handmade paper.

    Traditional Subjects

    • Bijin-ga (beautiful women): courtesans, geisha, ladies in layered kimonos

    • Meisho-e (famous places): Mount Fuji, cherry blossom gardens, Shinto shrines, bridges

    • Yakusha-e (kabuki actors): dramatic poses, demon masks, checkerboard backgrounds

    • Kachō-ga (birds and flowers): butterflies, peonies, koi, cranes, cats

    • Musha-e (warriors): samurai, dragons, sumo wrestlers

    Red Hanko Stamp

A small red seal (signature chop) often placed in the corner – adds authenticity.

    Asymmetric Composition

Inspired by Hiroshige and Hokusai: the main subject is often off-centre, with empty space (ma) that invites contemplation.

Limitations & Notes for Z Image Turbo

⚠️ Faces can sometimes be too Western – add japanese features or asian face if needed.
⚠️ Kimono patterns may become repetitive – vary the description (chrysanthemum, crane, pine, wave).
⚠️ Colour saturation can creep in – always use muted palette or desaturated.
⚠️ Modern elements occasionally appear – strengthen negative prompt.
⚠️ Woodblock grain works best at 1024×1024 – lower resolutions may lose the effect.

    Credits & Philosophy

Ukiyo-e means “pictures of the floating world” – a celebration of transient beauty, everyday pleasures, and the delicate balance between nature and human life. This LoRA honours the masters: Hokusai (waves, Fuji), Hiroshige (landscapes, rain, bridges), Utamaro (bijin-ga, courtesans), and Kuniyoshi (warriors, cats, mythology).

“The old man’s brush dances with the wave – and the wave becomes eternal.” – Anonymous
