<h1 id="inspector-hildibrand-manderville-0ioidc7vk">Inspector Hildibrand Manderville</h1>Hildibrand Helidor Maximilian Manderville is a non-playable character in Final Fantasy XIV, being the main protagonist of his side story series since the original version of the game.He is a male Highlander comic-relief character who at times has been referred as a "Gentleman of Light". He is often seen with his Miqo'te sidekick, Nashu Mhakaracca, and his parents, Godbert and Julyan Manderville.In an effort to unravel the mystery of Dalamud, the esteemed Hildibrand—agent of enquiry, inspector extraordinaire—was thrust to the heavens, never to be seen again.Carrying on the great detective's legacy, Nashu Mhakaracca works tirelessly to unravel the many mysteries which beleaguer Eorzea. With taverns throughout Ul’dah abuzz with talk of unusual zombie activity, her powers of deduction will soon be tested. If ever there was a crime to be solved, Hildibrand would surely be there to crack the case. Perhaps the greatest case of his time was Dalamud, and the prophecy foretelling its descent. To thwart the destruction of Eorzea, he embarked on a mission to the very heavens where he came perilously close to the red moon. It was at this time it is believed he was ensnared in some manner of Allagan device designed to keep its thralls in stasis. Hildibrand was effectively frozen in time, and until his return to the living five years later, many of his companions believed him dead, going as far as providing him with a burial fitting one of his status. The time spent in stasis seemingly had no effect on the gentleman inspector’s age, and he maintains the vim and vigor of a man of eighteen summers despite having seen twenty and three. His favorite food, incidentally, is Truffles à la Manderville.
