The Velathi's most savored delight was in subjecting human slaves to magical torture and 'sculpting', turning them into living works of art sustained at the point between agonising pain and death.When the humans finally rose up, their vengeance was total. Hinwenl lost everything; her family, her people, her world. Her partner cast Hinwenl into an overlapping plane of existence, the move both protecting her but also meaning that she could only watch as everyone she had known was butchered and murdered by their former slaves.Hinwenl eventually found a way out, but what survived was not the elf she once was, but something colder, hungrier, and far more dangerous. She has made it her purpose to return that suffering a hundredfold; to break, burn, and humiliate humankind as they once did to her. For Hinwenl, vengeance isn’t a duty or a burden. It’s art. It’s joy. It’s the only thing that still makes her feel alive.
