Flat Vector – Game Art Style LoRA

Flat Vector – Game Art Style is a versatile illustration LoRA for Krea 2 designed to create polished flat-vector artwork with rich color depth, smooth gradient shading, clean geometric shapes, modern anime-inspired characters, expressive poses, detailed environments, objects, and game-art compositions.

The LoRA was trained on a broad collection of 98 carefully written and created training concepts, covering characters, portraits, hairstyles, emotions, poses, actions, lifestyle scenes, interiors, technology, objects, visual-novel artwork, UI elements, different lighting conditions, and multiple perspectives.

The goal is not ultra-simple flat icon art. Instead, the LoRA combines the clarity and clean shapes of professional flat vector design with the richer shading, facial detail, color depth, and character appeal of modern anime and game illustration.

Recommended Prompt Opening

There is no mandatory activation token.

For the most consistent results, I recommend starting prompts with wording close to the language used throughout the training data:

Vector flat design illustration matching the reference style - [describe your scene]. 32-bit true color with rich gradient shading.

A slightly cleaner version also works very well:

Vector flat design illustration of [describe your scene]. 32-bit true color with rich gradient shading.

This can be treated as the LoRA's activation sentence.

For more style reinforcement, finish the prompt with:

Clean vector artwork with smooth cel-shading, polished flat aesthetic. Professional flat design meets modern anime aesthetic.

A strong general structure is therefore:

Vector flat design illustration matching the reference style - [SUBJECT AND SCENE]. 32-bit true color with rich gradient shading. [APPEARANCE]. [CLOTHING]. [POSE OR ACTION]. [FACIAL EXPRESSION]. [ENVIRONMENT]. [LIGHTING]. [COLOR PALETTE]. Clean vector artwork with smooth cel-shading, polished flat aesthetic. Professional flat design meets modern anime aesthetic.

Recommended LoRA Strength

A good starting range is approximately:

0.7 – 1.0

Lower values can provide a more subtle flat-vector influence while retaining more freedom from the Krea 2 base model.

Higher values strengthen the characteristic clean shapes, cel-shading, gradients, character treatment, and overall polished flat-design appearance.

The ideal value can vary depending on how strongly you want the LoRA to influence the final image.

Visual Style

The LoRA was trained around a recognizable combination of:

clean vector shapes + sophisticated gradients + rich 32-bit color + modern anime character design

Instead of completely flat colors, the style allows controlled gradients inside otherwise clean graphic forms.

Typical characteristics include:

Clean geometric silhouettes
Smooth cel-shading
Rich but controlled gradients
Strong color separation
Refined anime-inspired facial features
Elegant curves
Geometric hair shapes
Smooth hair gradients
Clear readable poses
Polished modern digital illustration
Clean backgrounds
Strong visual readability
Minimal surface texture
Rich color depth without painterly rendering

A useful style phrase is:

Premium flat design anime features, refined facial details, elegant curves, flowing geometric hair shapes with gradient shading, clean vector artwork with smooth cel-shading, polished flat aesthetic.

Character Prompting

Character prompts work best when you describe more than appearance.

Specify:

appearance → clothing → pose → action → facial expression → gaze → environment → lighting

Instead of:

Vector flat design illustration of a woman in a cafe.

try:

Vector flat design illustration matching the reference style - a young woman working on a laptop in a modern coffee shop during late afternoon. 32-bit true color with rich gradient shading. She wears a soft cream sweater and dark fitted jeans, sitting sideways at a window table with one hand resting on the laptop keyboard and the other wrapped around a warm coffee cup. Her shoulders are relaxed and her head is slightly lowered toward the screen. She has a calm focused expression with gently narrowed eyes and a subtle thoughtful smile. Large windows reveal a modern city outside. Warm peach-colored afternoon sunlight enters through the glass while cooler blue-green shadows fill the cafe interior. Modern furniture, plants and minimalist decor create a clean contemporary background. Premium flat design anime features, refined facial details, flowing geometric hair with gradient shading. Clean vector artwork with smooth cel-shading, polished flat aesthetic. Professional flat design meets modern anime aesthetic.

Facial Expressions

The LoRA has been trained with a variety of character expressions.

For stronger emotional control, describe the individual parts of the expression instead of using only a single emotion word.

Instead of:

She looks nervous.

try:

Her eyebrows lift slightly at the inner corners, her eyes are softly widened, her lips are pressed into a small uncertain smile, and her shoulders are slightly raised with nervous tension.

Instead of:

She looks happy.

try:

Her eyes narrow gently with genuine warmth, her cheeks lift slightly and her lips form a relaxed natural smile.

Instead of:

She looks surprised.

try:

Her eyes widen suddenly, eyebrows rise, lips part slightly and her hand stops halfway through its previous movement.

Detailed expressions are especially useful for visual novel characters, romance scenes, reaction shots, and character portraits.

Poses and Actions

The training data contains many active poses and everyday actions.

Useful descriptions include:

She stands confidently with one hand resting on her hip.

She sits comfortably on the sofa with an open book resting in both hands.

She leans slightly forward while typing on the laptop.

She extends one arm toward the canvas while holding a paintbrush.

She runs through the park with one leg lifted and her ponytail moving behind her.

She dances with both arms extended and her body twisting naturally through the movement.

She sits sideways in the chair with her shoulders relaxed and one leg crossed over the other.

Clear body language generally produces better results than simply naming an activity.

Hair

The training set contains multiple hairstyles, including:

Long flowing hair
High ponytails
Messy buns
Braids
Short pixie cuts
Medium-length hairstyles
Male hairstyles

Many female training examples used teal-to-blue gradient hair, so the LoRA may occasionally show some bias toward this color combination.

If you want a different color, describe it clearly.

For example:

long flowing auburn hair with subtle gradient highlights

short black geometric bob haircut

platinum blonde high ponytail

dark brown natural curls

copper-red braided hair

short dark masculine hairstyle with subtle gradient shading

Hair itself can also be the main subject.

Example:

Vector flat design close-up illustration of an elegant braided hairstyle in soft afternoon light. 32-bit true color with rich gradient shading. A young woman with an intricate side braid, detailed geometric braid shapes and deep auburn gradient coloring. Warm afternoon light creates gentle highlights across the braid and subtle shadows along the face. Premium flat design anime features with refined facial details and elegant curves. Clean vector artwork with smooth cel-shading, polished flat aesthetic. Professional flat design meets modern anime style.

Male Characters

The LoRA is not limited to female characters.

Male characters were also included in the training data across business, casual, athletic, winter, and smart-casual scenarios.

Example:

Vector flat design illustration matching the reference style - a young man working in a modern office during bright midday. 32-bit true color with rich gradient shading. He wears a sharp navy suit, white shirt, understated tie and polished dress shoes. He stands beside a modern desk in a relaxed professional pose, one hand holding a tablet while the other rests naturally at his side. He has refined anime-inspired facial features, short dark geometric hair with subtle gradient shading and a calm confident expression. Large office windows reveal a bright contemporary city skyline. Strong midday sunlight creates crisp highlights and defined geometric shadows across the office. Bright blues, greys and clean whites dominate the color palette. Clean vector artwork with smooth cel-shading, polished flat aesthetic. Professional flat design meets modern anime aesthetic.

Lighting

Lighting is an important part of the LoRA's training.

The dataset contains scenes across multiple times of day and lighting conditions.

Useful lighting descriptions include:

Morning

bright morning light

warm golden sunrise tones

soft peach-colored morning highlights

Midday

harsh bright midday sunlight

strong overhead light creating sharp geometric shadows

high contrast daylight

Afternoon

soft warm afternoon sunlight

gentle natural daylight with soft shadows

Golden Hour

warm evening golden hour

peach-orange sunset glow

warm romantic golden reflections

Night

deep blue-purple nighttime ambience

warm amber indoor lighting against cool night colors

cool cyan city lights mixed with warm interior lighting

The LoRA handles warm/cool contrast particularly well.

For example:

Warm amber apartment lighting contrasts against the deep blue-purple night outside the window.

Color Palettes

Describing the palette can significantly improve control.

Examples:

Warm peach and orange sunset tones with cool blue-green shadows.

Deep blue-purple night colors with warm amber practical lighting and cool cyan city lights.

Bright contemporary palette with clean whites, natural wood, soft greens and warm skin tones.

Electric blues, cyans and purples with warm accent lighting.

Soft neutral beige and grey tones with warm wood and gentle afternoon sunlight.

Perspective and Framing

Perspective can be used, but it is optional and is not the main activation mechanism of this LoRA.

The training data does include close-ups, extreme close-ups, over-the-shoulder views, and a small number of explicitly positioned camera angles.

Useful options include:

close-up portrait

extreme close-up focusing on the eyes

over-the-shoulder composition

camera positioned above the subject looking downward

camera positioned below the subject looking upward

These can be useful for character-focused illustrations and game scenes.

Unlike a dedicated cinematic camera LoRA, you do not need to specify complex camera terminology in every prompt.

For Flat Vector, subject, pose, expression, lighting, environment and color palette are usually more important.

Close-Up Example

Object Illustrations

The LoRA can also create standalone objects without characters.

The training data includes technology, accessories, cameras, smartphones, controllers, watches, beverages, and liquid-motion studies.

Example:

Vector flat design illustration of a modern wireless gaming controller in warm evening golden hour light. 32-bit true color with rich gradient shading. Sleek ergonomic controller with clearly defined joysticks, triggers and illuminated blue-purple buttons. Warm peach-orange sunset light creates soft golden reflections across the surface while the glowing buttons provide cool color contrast. Clean geometric shapes, sophisticated product design, smooth cel-shading and polished flat aesthetic. No people visible. Contemporary gaming technology illustration. Professional flat design style.

Another example:

Vector flat design illustration of a classic vintage camera with lens in soft afternoon light. 32-bit true color with rich gradient shading. Minimal modern background keeps the camera as the clear focal point. Clean vector artwork with smooth cel-shading, polished flat aesthetic. No people visible. Professional flat design style.

Empty Environments

Characters are not required.

The LoRA was also trained on empty interior scenes.

This makes it useful for visual novel backgrounds, game environments, UI backdrops, and scene plates.

Example:

Vector flat design illustration of an empty minimalist modern bedroom at night. 32-bit true color with rich gradient shading. A simple bed with clean linens occupies the main area of the room, accompanied by a small nightstand and warm glowing lamp. A large window reveals distant city lights beneath a deep blue-purple night sky. Modern furniture, a small plant and restrained wall decoration complete the interior. Warm amber bedside lighting creates a cozy pool of light while cool nighttime tones fill the rest of the room. Clean vector artwork with smooth cel-shading, polished flat aesthetic. Premium contemporary flat design style. No people visible.

Another example:

Vector flat design illustration of an empty stylish modern kitchen in bright midday light. 32-bit true color with rich gradient shading. Clean white cabinets, marble countertops, stainless steel appliances, a central island with bar stools, hanging plants and fresh produce arranged naturally across the counter. Large windows allow strong midday sunlight into the room, creating crisp geometric shadows across the floor and furniture. Bright clean palette of whites, greys, natural wood and fresh vegetable colors. Clean vector artwork with smooth cel-shading, polished flat aesthetic. Premium modern interior illustration. No people visible.

Visual Novel and Game Art

The style also works well for character-driven visual novel scenes.

For these images, clearly describe:

Which character is where
What each character is doing
Where they are looking
Their facial expressions
Their clothing
The environment
The lighting
Any dialogue or UI that should appear

Example:

Vector flat design illustration matching the reference style - a visual novel romance scene between two young adults in a modern coffee shop during evening golden hour. 32-bit true color with rich gradient shading. The woman sits in the left foreground wearing a soft cream sweater and dark jeans. She leans slightly forward with one forearm resting on the table while her other hand reaches toward a sugar packet. A young man sits opposite her in the right middle ground wearing a dark casual jacket and button-up shirt. His hand reaches toward the same sugar packet and their fingertips have just touched. The woman looks down at their hands with widened eyes, slightly raised eyebrows and a shy restrained smile. The man looks toward her face with an amused but nervous expression. Neither character looks toward the viewer. Large windows behind them reveal a warm sunset cityscape. Golden peach-colored sunlight creates soft rim lighting while cooler teal shadows fill the cafe interior. Clean vector artwork with smooth cel-shading, polished flat aesthetic. Professional flat design meets modern anime game art style.

UI and Dialogue Elements

The training data also includes visual-novel-oriented interface concepts.

For UI generation, be explicit about placement, shape, color, opacity and visible text.

Example:

A polished visual novel dialogue interface in premium flat vector game-art style. A wide rounded rectangular dialogue box occupies the lower section of the screen. The box uses a semi-transparent dark charcoal background with a thin teal-to-blue gradient border and subtle geometric corner details. A smaller rounded character nameplate is integrated into the upper-left side of the dialogue box. Inside the box, crisp white dialogue text reads exactly "I didn't expect you to come back." Three vertically stacked rounded choice buttons appear above the dialogue box. The choices read exactly "Tell her the truth.", "Stay quiet.", and "Walk away." The first button uses a bright teal-blue hover state while the remaining buttons use restrained dark gray-blue gradients. Clean spacing, polished modern visual novel interface, professional flat vector game UI.

When requesting visible text, put the exact wording inside quotation marks.

Prompt Formula

For most images, this formula is a strong starting point:

Vector flat design illustration matching the reference style - [WHO OR WHAT] [DOING WHAT] in [LOCATION / SITUATION]. 32-bit true color with rich gradient shading. [APPEARANCE]. [CLOTHING]. [POSE / ACTION]. [EXPRESSION AND GAZE]. [BACKGROUND]. [LIGHTING]. [COLOR PALETTE]. Premium flat design anime features with refined details and clean geometric shapes. Clean vector artwork with smooth cel-shading, polished flat aesthetic. Professional flat design meets modern anime aesthetic.

Short Prompt Formula

You do not always need an extremely long prompt.

For quicker experimentation:

Vector flat design illustration of [SUBJECT]. 32-bit true color with rich gradient shading. [ACTION OR POSE]. [ENVIRONMENT]. [LIGHTING AND PALETTE]. Clean vector artwork with smooth cel-shading, polished flat aesthetic.

Example Short Prompt

Vector flat design illustration of a woman painting on a large canvas in a bright modern art studio. 32-bit true color with rich gradient shading. She holds a paintbrush with one arm extended toward the canvas, focused expression, casual creative clothing, long auburn hair tied loosely back. Warm afternoon sunlight enters through large windows. Colorful art supplies and additional canvases fill the background. Clean vector artwork with smooth cel-shading, polished flat aesthetic.

Prompting Tips

Describe the lighting.
Morning, midday, afternoon, sunset and night produce noticeably different moods.

Describe the action.
Do not only say what a character is. Say what they are actively doing.

Describe facial expressions precisely.
Eyes, eyebrows, mouth and body posture can communicate more than a single emotion word.

Specify hair color when needed.
Teal/blue gradient hair appears frequently in the training material, so explicitly prompt alternative colors when desired.

Use environments.
The LoRA was trained with detailed contemporary backgrounds and does not need to be limited to isolated character portraits.

Try objects and empty backgrounds.
The style also works without people.

Use complete English sentences.
The training captions were primarily structured as descriptive English sentences, so this is the recommended prompting format.

Keep important visual information explicit.
If clothing, pose, lighting or background matters, describe it instead of expecting the model to infer it.
