what are the main differences between these and the lycoris? Does one produce better results in your experience?
Yes, the LyCORIS produces better results when it comes to facial details.
However, some people can't use LyCORIS (for various reasons) and some people choose to use LORA because they are more interested in artistic results and not photorealism. (and I assume some people could experiment with mixing).
I would say: if you want the best photorealistic resemblance (as best as I can), then go with LyCORIS, otherwise you can do LORA.

I actually like those results as well, so overall LyCORIS seems to be great regardless of the method (as long as you do it well :P)
@malcolmrey I personally think his LyCORIS models weren't bad but not as mindblowing as yours.
So overall, from your model comparisons on LoRA vs LyCORIS, to improve face likeness for photorealistic purposes, it's better to use LyCORIS (with the right setting and datasets), right?
I followed your tutorial but it seemed like it takes HOURS to do Dreambooth training in a standard setting with just 15 datasets on Colab, that's why I ask if you have any LyCORIS models that you've published without using the extraction method, my purpose is clearly to save time. I did my own LoRA training for photorealistic images and the result is always a disaster
Could you possibly, one day, give us an example of the LyCORIS model that wasn't extracted from Dreambooth training?

to the question about training pure lycoris - i have none unfortunately, i did train some loras but after i started extracting them - once the lycoris popped out - i just switched the extraction to another target (and nowadays I'm also extracting loras too since there is demand for them as well!)
I'm trying (but it's a process) to take my stuff into the cloud so other people would be able to train on their own, not sure when that will happen, i have recently a lot on my plate :)
