Civitai Discovery - A Fix for Linux and Source Users

An update for Linux and source users
Thank you to everyone who has been trying Civitai Artist Discovery and sending feedback. One report helped uncover an issue affecting people running the app directly from source on Linux or Windows.
Checking out the original v3.0.0 tag and starting the server could still show 3.0.0-beta.14 and use a separate local Community gallery rather than the public gallery. This could leave Community empty or display a misleading maintenance or invitation message. Successful Civitai sign-in did not necessarily mean the app was connected to public Community.
The fix is now available on the latest main and development/3.0 branches. Source users can explicitly select the stable Production configuration with the --stable launch option. The app also displays a notice explaining which Community mode is selected.
To use the fix, save any local code changes, close the running app, and update your checkout to one of those branches. Then launch with:
uv run --with-requirements requirements.txt server.py --stableIf you have already installed the runtime requirements, you can instead run:
python server.py --stableThe original v3.0.0 tag remains unchanged, so checking out that tag again will not include the correction. Stable source mode uses a separate local profile and requires a fresh sign-in. Your existing Development data is preserved, but it is not automatically moved into that profile.
Users running the published Windows ZIP do not need to download it again for this issue. That package already contains the correct Production configuration.
We have verified the corrected flow on Windows and Ubuntu under WSL2, including protected Linux credential storage, real Civitai sign-in, and loading the public Community gallery. Linux support remains experimental, and that testing does not cover every distribution, desktop environment, or browser.
If you encounter a problem, please report your operating system, app version, launch command, and the message you see. Screenshots are welcome, but please do not share passwords, authorization URLs, tokens, or profile databases. Your reports help identify problems that local testing can miss.
