    Amara Karan is a British actress of Sri Lankan descent, known for her versatile performances across film, television, and stage. Born in Wimbledon, London, she studied at Wimbledon High School before earning a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) from Oxford University. Initially working in investment banking, she transitioned to acting after training at the Arts Educational Schools London.

    Karan gained international recognition for her film debut in Wes Anderson’s The Darjeeling Limited (2007), where she starred opposite Adrien Brody. She went on to appear in St. Trinian’s (2007) and A Fantastic Fear of Everything (2012), showcasing her range in both comedy and drama.
